Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., who is black, was asked on public TV about the President. He replied "Well, I really think that he shatters the myth of white supremacy once and for all.”
"That's my rep!"Lucky you. One of my senators is Arlen Spector, the other is Rick Santorum. It's pretty bad when Spector is the better legislator. FanSee
I have a pretty good Rep here--Russ Carnahan. My Senators, on the other hand, are lost causes. And I have the honor to be from the state that gave this country John Ashcroft!
I have the honor to be from the state that gave this country John Ashcroft!Yeesh. It's a hard call, but I think I still have you beat with Rick Santorum. FanSee
That was Grrreat! (BTW..I'm going to get to your comments in a bit. I'm trying to get through the recent influx of emails sent to me by my crazy ladies).
What a line! He surely did make his point. Way OT FanSee, I saw Gil Shaham perform the Schuman Violin Concerto last month - a work so difficult it's considered to be unplayable by even some of the greatest violinists - and he ripped through that thing without breaking a sweat. He gave a remarkable performance which I'll remember for a long time. Like when you saw Nadia S-S.
I'll keep an eye out for Mr. Shaham. I don't think I've ever heard the Schuman performed. Which reminds me: I have a novel about Clara Schuman in my TBR pile. Mayhap I'll take it to NYC with me. Plenty of time to read on the bus. FanSee

I LOVE that quote!!! :D
no more need be said. I am a big, big fan of the well-worded, witty, pithy phrase. This one definitely qualifies.
And so few of our current crop of public figures is capable of coming out with a zinger like Mr. Rangel's. Alas! FanSee
