I'm about half through and there's a lot more about failure than success, which makes for somewhat depressing reading. Collapse is interesting and instructive, but I don't think it's going to change my world view the way Diamond's Guns, Germs, and Steel did. FanSee

I started to reread it about a week ago.

It's about this fellow who's on the New York subway going to work when he suddenly cannot remember who he is. Funny that this morning I've been on LJ for the past hour struggling to read tiny text....
